ABOUT Ms. Walter
Welcome to Preschool!
On my very first day of Kindergarten, I came home and told my parents I knew exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up-
a teacher! I never changed my mind!

I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2016 with my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I have worked with children from birth-eighteen years of age. My primary focus while teaching in public schools was third grade. I decided to switch to the lower ages and have been teaching preschool for the past year at Bethany Learning Center in Broken Arrow.
I immediately began pursuing my Masters degree at OSU-Tulsa in Curriculum Design after graduating with my Bachelors. I am so excited to be graduating with my Masters next year!
Some of my training in my Masters program includes:
*Multicultural Diversity
*Trauma in Children
*Pre-Kindergarten Curriculum
*Kindergarten Curriculum
*Implementing art in the classroom and curriculum
*Issues in Teaching and in Schools
*Choosing and Designing Curriculum

One of the primary reasons I have chosen to open an at home preschool is because of current education issues in the schools with Covid. I have a 3 year old little boy and always planned to homeschool him, but I worried about him lacking social skills! Now with Covid being a huge issue, we feel safer at home, but want to help out other families who also want their child to have an education without interruption. This program allows your child to be in a smaller and safer setting with less children in the class. However, I left in all of the fun!

Teaching has always been my passion, and I feel it is my calling in life. I truly believe that every child is unique, and created in God's image. I attend Life.Church services in Broken Arrow, close to my home. My 3 year old son is my greatest blessing and joy. He's my lovebug!
He will be one of the students in the preschool class in my home program. We enjoy doing Mommy and Me gymnastics every Friday, swimming, attending church, going to the lake, zoo, and aquarium, watching movies, going on walks, and exploring different playgrounds. I also enjoy gardening, kayaking, horseback riding, going to the gym, Yoga, reading, and cooking.

Child Safety
I greatly struggled to find a program or daycare that worked with my son's medical needs so I created my own!

I have additional training and certificates in the following:
*CPR certified
*Pediatric First Aid
*Asthma and Allergy Awareness
*Anaphylaxis Awareness
*Trust Based Relationship Intervention (TBRI)
*Basic Sign Language
*Circle of Security Course (Parent-Child Center)
*Safe Care 10 month program (Parent-Child Center)
The First Five Years Course (Family & Children's Services)

I am familiar and trained in the Heimlich Maneuver, and able to administer an Inhaler and Epi-Pen in emergencies.
SAFETY IS ALWAYS MY FIRST PRIORITY!
